Day 01 : Departing to Russia
Depart from INDIA for Moscow for your exciting Russia & Scandinavia with Iceland tour. Russia’s capital and largest city, Moscow is home to more than 10 million people, making it the most populous European city. Nearly 50 bridges span the Moskva River which flows through the city. Founded in 1703, St. Petersburg was the capital of the Russian Empire for more than 200 years. Finland’s capital and largest city, Helsinki, is spread across a number of bays and peninsulas and over a number of islands. Day 02 : Arrival in Moscow (Russia)
Arrival in Moscow. On arrival in Moscow, you will be met by our friendly representative who will escort you to your hotel. Panoramic City Tour: This tour is a great start to your trip and the best way to get acquainted with many of the city´s major highlights. Our professional guide will escort you on a route in the city from an observation point, you will proceed to Moscow State University which is an example of architecture from the time of Stalin and one of Russia’s leading schools of higher education, then on to Novodevichiy Convent, the Diplomatic Village, Victory Park, the Triumphal Arch, Kutuzovsky Prospect, the Arbat and much more. Later in the evening, see the world famous Russian Circus. For over two centuries circus has been an important partof Russia’s rich cultural heritage. Day 03 : Moscow – Guided City Tour – Kremlin – Red Square
After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel, proceed on a guided city tour with a local English-speaking guide. Explore the Kremlin Grounds, St. Basil’s Cathedral and see the Patriarch’s Palaces in Moscow. The small city in the centre of Moscow, once the residence of Czars and Patriarchs, contains Russia’s main Cathedrals, Assumption Cathedral, Archangel’s Cathedral and the Deposition of the Robe Cathedral. Also visit the Patriarch’s Palace – a museum of seventeenth-century life and applied art, displaying ecclesiastical regalia, period furniture, gold and silverware from Russia and Western Europe. The palace dates back to 1640 and incorporates the Church of the Twelve Apostles, which was the private place of worship for the patriarchs. Next, experience the metro, the most reliable and rapid transport system, connecting the central part of the city with industrial, residential areas and neighbouring towns. Moscow Metro is the world’s leader in the volume of traffic and reliable transportation. You have some time at leisure to explore Moscow on your own. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 04 : Moscow to St Petersburg (by high-speed train – Sapsan) – Cruise on River Neva
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to the train station to board the new high-speed train “Sapsan” to St Petersburg. This train, which was introduced on December 12, 2011, gets you to St. Petersburg in less than 4 hours. Arrive into St. Petersburg – “Venice of the North” and check into the hotel. Later, enjoy a cruise on the Neva River. It is one of the best ways to view the majesty of the St. Petersburg 18th century architecture and craftsmanship. The cruise will expose you to the magnificent panorama and stunning sights of this great city. It will pass under the main bridges of St. Petersburg which will unfold the city’s history and its legends connected with the waterways. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 05 : City Tour of St Petersburg – Visit the Hermitage Museum
After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel, proceed on a guided city tour with a local English-speaking guide. Visit the Grand Palace, to be amazed with its fascinating & elaborate interiors. The world-famous Palace, Fountain and Park ensemble of Peterhofshines forth as a glittering landmark of Russia’s aesthetic culture in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its wonderful parks, 176 fountains of various forms, majestic palaces, numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes, paintings and works of art and culture make Peterhof a veritable gem of art, often called the ‘Capital of Fountains,’ unique in the world. In the afternoon, visit the celebrated Hermitage Museum, one of the most important museums in the world. It houses a fabulous collection of nearly three million works of applied art, archaeological finds, coins, graphic art and paintings in six different buildings. See the St. Isaacs Cathedral, Nevsky Prospekt, the Rastrelliesque Stroganov Palace, the neoclassical Kazan Cathedral, the Russian National Library, the Statue of Peter the Great, the Peter & Paul Fortress, Summer Garden, Smolniy Cathedral and many more sights. Day 06 : St. Petersburg – Helsinki (Finland) by high-speed train – Allegro
After breakfast proceed to Helsinki. Meet a guide and coach at the railway station and proceed on a guided city tour with a local English-speaking guide. Visit Modern Finlandia Hall, the leading congress, event and entertainment venue in Finland; Sibelius Monument – dedicated to the Finnish Composer, Jean Sibelius, consisting of a series of more than 600 hollow steel pipes welded together in a wave-like pattern; Helsinki Cathedral – the impressive green-domed Lutheran Cathedral which dominates Senate Square and the Helsinki skyline; the unique Rock Church – built entirely underground with a ceiling made of copper wire; and the Market Square, bustling with activities with vendors selling fresh food and souvenirs. Later, proceed to the small town of Porvoo a small Finnish town situated on the southern coast of Finland and east of Helsinki. The town is famed for its “Old Town” (Gamla Stan in Swedish), a dense mediaeval street pattern with predominantly wooden houses. Its picturesque city centre of wooden houses is a proposed UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 07 : Helsinki – Stockholm (Sweden) by Viking Line Cruise
After Breakfast, Check out from hotel. Take JT Line boat to Suomenlinna. (About 25 min). ATTN: This is not a private boat. Meet your local guide at Suomenlinna pier. Tour to Suomenlinna for 45min – 1 hour. Enjoy some free time on own after the guided tour. Take a boat back to city. Stroll around in the Esplanade Park situated in the heart of Helsinki. The Esplanade is a protected area that is culturally and historically important. The park serves as a promenade for tourists and a place to relax for city people. The park is located near the market square. Transfer to pier Viking Line and check in. Overnight on-board Viking Line inside cabin. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 08 : Arrive on Stockholm – Stockholm City Tour
Breakfast is served on board. Arrive at Stockholm in the morning by Viking Line, meet and assist by local guide at Stockholm pier. Take a sightseeing tour with a private guide and coach. Proceed for a City sightseeing tour in Stockholm including a photo stop at Fjällgatan for a beautiful view over Stockholm, a walk through the Old Town to the Royal Palace, built in 1754, for an outside look (change of guards if time allows), Entrance to City Hall and Vasa Museum. After lunch, visit Icebar. At -5 degrees all year round, you are guaranteed an experience cool in every way. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 09 : Stockholm – Drottningholm Palace
Breakfast at the hotel. Meet a guide and coach at the hotel and transfer to Drottningholm Palace. Entrance to Drottningholm Palace and guided tour for 40-45 min. (Including the entrance of the Palace) .Some time for photographing, walk in the garden. Transfer to Skansen for Entrance. Visit Skansen Park (Entrance included)—many start to close around 16:00/17:00. Main entrance closes at 1800. Free time in the city centre for shopping. The Skansen Museum in Stockholm is the world’s oldest open-air museum. At the Skansen Museum, you will find the history of Sweden shown both in historical buildings as well as intriguing crafts displays. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 10 : Stockholm – Oslo (Norway) by Coach
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Oslo from Stockholm by Long distance coach (approx. 7h). Oslo is the economic and governmental center of Norway. The city is also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. It is an important centre for maritime industries and maritime trade in Europe Arrive in Oslo, and check in at your hotel. Day 11 : Oslo – Geilo by Coach
Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet the coach and guide at the hotel lobby and take city sightseeing in Oslo. City sightseeing includes Vigeland Park, Parliament Square, an outside look at the Royal Palace, National Galleries, Karl Johan Shopping Street, City Hall, Akershus Castle, and the Norwegian Defense Museum. Photo stop at the ski jump Holmenkollen. Entrance to Viking Ship Museum. After lunch, transfer to Geilo by long-distance coach (approx. 4h) Arrive in Geilo, check in at your hotel and have dinner at the hotel. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 12 : Geilo – Bergen
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Geilo railway station. Take NSB train to Myrdal. Take Flambana train to Flam. Take boat trip to Gudvangen. The Norway in a Nutshell trip takes you through some of Norway’s most beautiful fjord scenery. You canexperience the scenic Bergen Railway, the breathtaking Flåm Railway, the Aurlandsfjord, the narrow Nærøyfjord and the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva (May-September). Meet coach in Gudvangen and transfer to hotel in Bergen. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 13 : Bergen – Copenhagen (Denmark) by flight
Breakfast at the hotel. Take 3 hours city sightseeing in Bergen. Sightseeing tour including the famous Bryggen Harbor with its gabled pack houses, the old Hanseatic Quarter, and the historic Maria Church. Ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien for panoramic views of the city and fjords way below. Visit the picturesque fish market. After lunch transfer to airport to take a flight to Copenhagen. Arrive in Copenhagen, meet assistant and coach, and transfer to hotel. Enjoy time on own in Tivoli garden, transfer to dinner. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 14 : Copenhagen
Breakfast at the hotel. Start with a city tour where you will see all the major sights of the Danish Capital. First, we drive the scenic route north along the coast of Denmark paralleled by Sweden, through fashionable resorts and exclusive residential areas. This is a great way of seeing the castles and the countryside north of Copenhagen. Kronborg Castle stands at the seaward approach to the Oresund Sound. It’s one of northern Europe’s best-preserved Renaissance castles which is made famous all over the world, by Shakespeare’s Hamlet. On the tour back, you make a stop at Frederiksborg Castle, where you have time to explore the Castle’s gardens or the small market town of Hillerød, where the castle is perfectly situated. Lunch at a restaurant. Afternoon sightseeing continues with Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek and drives through the colourful canal district, past the National Museum and past Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament. Continue past the harbour district of Nyhavn to Amalienborg Palace -the winter residence of the Royal Family, where you may have the opportunity to see the changing of the Danish Royal Guard. This is followed by a visit to the Gefion Fountain and The Little Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale. End of sightseeing, transfer to the shopping area. (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 15 : Departure from Copenhagen
This morning, after an American buffet breakfast / boxed breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
