£937 Graduate Route Post-study work with no job offer needed. Duration reduces to 18 months from January 2027.
TB TB test (India) Approximately ₹2,500–3,500 at an approved clinic. Mandatory for any stay over 6 months.

Refusal prevention

Most UK refusals are paperwork, not people.

A UK caseworker never meets you. They decide on the file alone — which means an unexplained credit, a mismatched ITR or a vague sponsor letter carries more weight than your intentions. These are the five reasons Surat applications get refused, and what we do about each.

  • Large unexplained deposits before applying
  • Bank balance that contradicts declared income
  • Weak evidence of ties and return intent
  • Sponsor letters without status or relationship proof
  • Student funds not held the full 28 days

Visitor refusals carry no right of appeal — you can only reapply. That is exactly why the first application has to be right.

Required documents

The UK checklist, verified twice.

A general list for the Standard Visitor route. Student and Skilled Worker files add sponsor documents — your consultant customises it in the first session.

01 Passport Plus all previous passports showing travel history.
02 Bank statements Six months, bank-stamped. Students: maintenance funds held 28 consecutive days.
03 ITRs & Form 16 Three years, matched line-by-line to your statements.
04 Employment or business proof Leave letter and salary slips, or GST, Udyam and incorporation papers.

07 CAS & academic records Students only: CAS number, offer letter, transcripts and English test score.
08 TB test certificate For any application over six months, from a Home Office approved clinic.
Frequently asked

UK visa questions, answered by Surat's experts.

Travelism has run visa files from Nanpura, Surat since 2010 and holds a 5.0 Google rating across 118 verified reviews. The UK desk is led by Senior Visa Officer Faiza Khan and reviewed by founder Azharuddin (MBA, Tours & Travel), covering Standard Visitor, Student and Skilled Worker applications for clients across Surat and South Gujarat.

Since 8 April 2026 the six-month Standard Visitor visa is £135 and the Student visa is £558, both up around 6.5%. Students also pay the Immigration Health Surcharge at £776 per year, upfront, for the whole visa length. Priority processing adds £500 and Super Priority £1,000. Everything is paid in rupees at VFS using the Home Office's quarterly exchange rate, so we confirm the live figure before you pay.

Standard non-settlement applications — visitor, student, work — are decided in about three weeks from your biometrics appointment. Priority service brings that to five working days and Super Priority to the next working day. Settlement applications run about twelve weeks, or six with priority. We advise applying at least six to eight weeks before travel.

The Home Office publishes no minimum balance for visitors. What matters is that your funds credibly cover the trip, come from an explainable source, and sit consistently with your declared income. A sudden pre-application deposit hurts more than a modest but steady balance. Student applicants are different — there the maintenance requirement is fixed and the money must be held for 28 consecutive days.

Yes, and it is a large part of our UK work. Visitor refusals carry no right of appeal, so the only route is a stronger fresh application. We read the refusal notice paragraph by paragraph, identify exactly which requirement the caseworker was not satisfied on, rebuild that evidence, and address it directly in a covering submission.

Applicants from India need a TB test certificate from an approved clinic for any stay longer than six months — students and workers, not short-trip visitors. There is no routine interview: the decision is made on your documents. Student applicants can occasionally be called for a short credibility interview, which we rehearse with you as standard.
